Introduction
Quinta da Fortuna is a property in rural Southern Portugal in the popular Algarve region. We run a small nursery business from the property and also look after many cats, dogs and chickens, most of them rescue animals. The property is set amongst a picturesque hilly landscape and has views out to the ocean. We are located 20km from the airport at Faro, 2 km from the small village of Moncarapacho and 8 km from the beach at Fuzeta. Although we are in the heart of the Algarve we couldn't be further from the mass tourism centers.
What we offer is the chance to get away from everything and enjoy some time-out in a beautiful and peaceful Portuguese setting.
Accommodation
There are three types of accommodation on offer:
- Two big double bedrooms with private bathroom, 1 with south facing balcony with sea views. These can be rented together or separately. The bedrooms are located on the first floor of the main house but have their own separate entrance or
- A powered on-site caravan, that can sleep up to 2 adults with access to toilet and shower facilities or
- A fenced off camping site - either bring your own tent or we can provide one - with access to toilet and shower facilities.
All accommodation options come with the following inclusions:
- Self-contained separate recreational room with full kitchen including fridge, oven, cook top and all cooking equipment, dining tables, lounge chairs, books and Wifi
- Roof top sun terrace with 360 sea and hill views - perfect for yoga or meditation.
- Access to push bikes for exploring the beautiful surrounds.
- Absolute privacy, if require

Things to do
- Enjoy nature walks in the surrounding hillsides.
- Spend time at the beach, either the lagoon which is perfect for kids or catch the boat to the open sea and islands and explore miles of white sandy beaches (is this part of the nature reserve?)
- Go for a bike ride.
- Walk into Moncarapacho and experience an authentic Portuguese village.
- Drive to one of the many beautiful seaside towns and enjoy real Portuguese food.
- Learn about Mediterranean plants and how to grow them at home.
- Help out with the animals; feeding the chickens, walking the dogs or playing with the cats.
- Or do none of these things and simply just enjoy the peace and quiet away from everyday life

A farm breakfast can be included to a small additional cost (5 Euros p.p.)
Also on offer (for an additional fee) is an on-site counselling service. A qualified and experienced practitioner is available to talk through with you any family, relationship or work issues or to help you cope with your everyday life. Strategies for living a stress free life combined with the time and space that Quinta da Fortuna offers ensures you will go away feeling rejuvenated and with a positive frame of mind. Sessions can be taken in English or German and can be arranged in whatever format and whatever time frame suits you.
